This is excellent. I wish I had some idea of what he was saying... great tonality and motion coming through though. Thanks for the post.

If you know the english for the lyrics I would be interested in reading them.

Thanks!

Bill

I am trying myself and I am terrible. I just noticed that he is your son. He is incredibly talented...

So far I think it is something like this:

I remember I recently broke up my relationship with you
Now I go every evening just to get a glimpse of your sweet smile

I am told you will be at the club by 7
and the whole day I hear songs that are about you (remind me of you?)

I think that is where it is going... Translating a language you do not speak is HARD :)

You should be very proud of your son. His music is VERY good and I do not even understand it... I know it is about regret or loss because of the way he sings it and I do not even know the words... Not everyone can do that with their voice.

Thanks Bill.
I would like to post the lyrics of this song for you, along with the translation that I personally wrote per your request.

“Buko” (Short cut for “Buhay Ko”) [My Life]

Naalala ko pa [I still remember]

Nung nililigawan pa lamang kita [When I was still wooing you]

Dadalaw tuwing gabi [Visiting you at home each night]

Masilayan lamang ang 'yong mga ngiti [Just to glimpse your sweet smile]

At Ika'y sasabihan [To whisper you this]

Bukas ng alas siyete sa dating tagpuan [Tomorrow at 7pm at the same place]

Buo ang araw ko [Making my day complete]

Marinig ko lang ang mga himig mo [Simply hearing your voice]

Hindi ko man alam kung nasan ka [I might not know where you are at now]

Wala man tayong komunikasyon [We might have not been communicating lately]

Mag hihintay sa'yo buong magdamag [I will be waiting for you all night long]

Dahil ikaw ang buhay ko [Just because you are my life]

Chorus:

Kung inaakala mo [If you thought]

Ang pag-ibig ko'y magbabago [My love would change]

Itaga mo sa bato [Write it on the stone]

Dumaan man ang madaming pasko [Many Christmases might pass]

Kahit na di mo na abot ang sahig [Even if you’re unable to reach the floor]

Kahit na di mo na 'ko marinig [Even if you couldn’t hear me no more]

Ikaw pa rin ang buhay ko [You will always be my life]

Naalala ko pa [I still remember]

Nung pinapangarap pa lamang kita [When I was still dreaming about you]

Hahatid, susunduin [Taking and dropping you off your home]

Kahit mga bituin aking susungkitin [I would reach even the stars for you]

Bridge:

Araw-araw kitang liligawan [Wooing you everyday]

Haharanahin ka lagi [Serenading you through the window each night]

Kitang liligawan [Wooing you]

Haharanahin ka lagi [Serenading you always]

P.S.

My son Jireh wrote this song having been inspired by his Lolo and Lola at their 70's and 80's showing off their tender loving care for each other. His Lolo was 10 years younger than his Lola. Lolo is much stronger to take care of the old wife, feeding her, bathing her, walking by her side and caressing her everyday.

That is a great song. I had my girls listen to it... They are 12 and they think he is cute :) But they even liked the song but we had no idea what the words meant.

My job as translator was very poor... Oh well... I spent 30 minutes to get what I had... and it was wrong :)

As I told you before, he is very talented and you should be proud... And what a wonderful lesson your parents are teaching EVERYONE that sees them. They sound as if they are living life like it should be lived. With love for each other regardless of what happens. Sounds like you have a wonderful family, I pray that God blesses you all.

Thanks again Bill and Rolf for your wonderful comments. Yes, I am a proud Momma.
Jireh Lim's songs are frequently played on local radio here in my hometown, Sablayan, Occ. Mindoro because of his YouTube account.
My fellow kababayans (barrio residents) are very proud to have ever raised such a talented and of course goodlooking dude like Jireh. (LOL).
Many have recognized him since his first visit last year after becoming a US resident in 2009.

We are visiting this Summer and more and more young folks are clamoring for his presence, autograph, picture taking with him and requesting him to perform.

P.S.
He prefers to live here in the Phils because he feels he can be a big star here someday. But my husband and I are pleading him to get his US citizenship in 2014 first before making any major decision in life.
Pursuing to become or being a star is not permanent. But becoming a US citizen is for life.
