From Mr. William Baldwin, one of the board of judges on the pageant threw this question on our Ms. Philippines' bet, Ms. Venus Raj:

What is one big mistake you made in your your life and what have you done to correct it?

We know that this kind of question was the least you expect on a global competition like this. Thus, out of surprise, Ms. Philippines answered it from within but kinda failed to give any impact on her short non-affirmative answer. The public then left absolutely unimpressed.
Filipina, what do you think is the best answer for this silly question to impress the panel of judges and make the whole world cheer?
Let's assume we are on the ramp and vying for the crown. How can you answer this type of a question giving a short, concise and impressive answer in 4 to 5 sentences only?

(P.S. I will give my answer tomorrow. I don't feel like I am a Miss Universe candidate tonight because I am so tired and sleepy now. LOL)

Medical Exams – A caller explained that the civil surgeon who completed the medical exam used the wrong form and then wanted to charge an indigent refugee to reprocess the paperwork on the correct form. What recourse does an applicant have if this occurs?

USCIS Response: Customers should notify the Director of their local office when they have a complaint about a civil surgeon.

Sorry I can't answer those question. If I was in her shoes I might blush and statitic for a while and asked again"I beg your pardon sir..kindly repeat?" laugh.gif .I never ever have the courage to stand up the crowd thats why I never joined any beauty contest.I feel like all those eyes are like splinters ready for fire.So I think she was just Nervous I guess, she is doing good in her life, infact she was a scholar and worked in the government.

But anyway 4th runner up is better than not including in the magic 5.Im still proud of her and adore her humility and beauty.

That judge probably feel like he's on Miss U 1969. His Q is so outdated.

Oh well, who can blame Venus Raj, she lived a major major humble life and dealt with poverty for 22 years, wakes up every morning happy, walking through the peaceful rice fields as her runway and calls it a day. Unlike most people who lived in so much convenience and still can't be satisfied! dry.gif

At least she could speak english. Not like the winner.

Plus Mexico won to throw them a bone for the Arizona immigration law. Politics is in everything.

"I didnt correct the infos on my BC right after i knew it was wrong that leads to the accusations that I cheated the Miss Philippines organizers, that threatened me to get dethroned of the title as Miss Philippines Universe. I corrected it by going to the court and fight for my title with evidences that i told them in the beginning about the conflicts on my BC, and gave me a lesson that being born out of wedluck is not a hindrance to be on the top five in Miss Universe beauty pageant."

It's a very personal question, in need of each own's personal answer. But I think she coulda done a lot better (Miss Philippines). I'm still proud of her!

Not that strange a question and not that bad of an answer. Not everyboy has led the life of the Baldwins. It would have been more interesting if he had directed the question at himself

There is really no major major answer to this question. But it could be very simple by admitting that you are not a perfect individual and that you are also prone to commit mistakes. You cannot go back in time to correct it but what you can do is to move on, get over it. Experience is the best teacher. You learn in your own mistake. wink.gif

She could've answered better, in TAGALOG! lol Some people are just scared to say things thinking that someone outhere is going to critisize them. Then, they get overwhelmed big time! And then, there are some who applaud you just cause u say something they 'want to hear' But I think it's darn easy when u just say it from the heart..(Oh well it's always easy to say when you're not the one up there! laugh.gif )...(Ow my gad! ay pel teripayd)
