Hi wofers.

I'm on my quest to cure my boredom or homesickness and I'm curious I'd I could apply and go to school here in the united states without my AOS ( that's another long story). I came here legally on a K1.

Don't know if this is a stupid question or not but just curious. I'm trying to find ways where I have a structured schedule and I can focus on something so I don't get bored. I'm thinking about going to Zumba classes as well. Also if you guys, specially the ladies here who came in on a k1 visa or spouse visa, have any ideas to activities where I can possibly join or do I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks again and God bless us all.

Most cities have a free "Adult School" sponsored by the school district. They teach ESL but these classes are also very good for acculturation and meeting other immigrants.

Check your local city or county library's website. They usually offer free computer classes, art classes, etc. You can also check the official website of the city where you reside for  current events and other recreational activities. Goodluck!

Aside from going to school, you may want to consider doing a volunteer work.  If you have a plan to work in the future, it's a great way to learn the working environment.  For me, I have included my volunteer work in my resume and to show that I have a working experience here.  just a thought :)

We know that going to school or enrolling yourself even just for short courses or program for Certificates requires a Greencard.

But if you only want to go to a Zumba Classes thats fine no Greencard needed or AOS needed.
