Mobile to Mobile calling on the cheap

I have been calling my pinay almost for a few weeks, from my mobile to her mobile and yes it is very expensive. Especially if you are using "their" rates. I have T-Mobile and they charge $0.23 per minute. So I got privey to Jajah and Rebtel. I tried Jajah, and while they are good, their rates are almost as expensive as T-Mobile. So I checked out Rebtel, and I have been more than satisified. You get a local number to call, from your cell phone, and I guess they just duplex the signal. I'm still not sure how it works. But Rebtel's rate is only $0.139 cents a minute. So if you prepay for $25.00, and just watch your time, you can have a lot of conversations. Plus it sounds great.
That is just my two cents though. I don't have a landline phone, and my pinay doesn't have residental phone or internet. So we have to use mobile or Yahoo chat.

Globe cell US$0.099
Other cell US$0.169
Ohter Phil US$0.109
With peso at 47=$1 the 9.9cents is P4.65.
With these rates the Globe 1 card at P2.5 per minute and Rebtel at US$0.139 (P6.5) are competitive.
Keep on truckin'

I'm using smart network to call my fiancee its cost me 2.50 pesos per minute...its a HELLOW CARD..its a re loadable card... minimum load u can buy is 15 pesos. and the load will last for 15 days from the first used...its pretty good deal for us...i call my fiancee everyday morning and night or anytime i want to hear his voice...If im saving my load i usually call him with 5 minutes call and then stop....and i can still use my remaining call next day and so on....it great coz your load wont be deducted till u already connect to the number whose your calling...

Can it be reloaded via a website? It sounds interesting. I have been using Startec and the quality is terrible. Usually cannot understand because of the distortion and the calls are often dropped after a minute or so. And that is about 8.75p per minute.

Here is a Blogspot article on the Hellow card.
That W on the end is the correct spelling. That gave me a bit of trouble last night finding it. Got the search corrected today. Google helpfully searches for Hello with just a comment explaining the assistance given and asking if you really did want to search for Hellow

Two other articles linked in the Blogspot are for PLDT Budget card and Sun P2 IDD.
This is the search I used. Watch the "Did you mean... line to make sure you got the results for Hellow instead of Hello.
HOW TO USE:
Dial *4334 from your Smart or Talk N' Text Cellphone
Follow voice prompt.
Enter the 11 digit account number (the first 11 number of the pin)
Enter the last 6 digit of the pin number
Dial the number of the person you want to call: "00 + Country Code + Area Code + Phone Number"
Card credits will only be deducted when your call is connected to the dialed number.
All deductions are made on this account and not on the cellphone being used.
Important Reminders:
The pre load P30 can be used within 15 days from the time the first call was made.
Smart's HelLow is a service provided by Smart Telecom Philippines
This card is non-refundable and non-replaceable. The value of the card must be consumed within 15 days from first use.
This card can only be used for overseas calls
This card can be E-load validity will follow existing E-load expiry
This card can only be used by Smart or Talk & Text Subscriber in the Philippines to Call overseas.
Customer Service Number: *888 for Smart Subscriber or 888-1111 (landline)
Rates as follows:
P2.50 / min to US, Canada and Hong Kong
P5.00 / min to Singapore, China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea
P8.00 / min to Italy, UK, Australia, Thailand and Japan
P10.00/ min to Saudi Arabia and UAE
$0.40 / min to all other countries
1888fonkard offers a good selection of discount IDD phone cards for use from Philippines. Use them as a starting point to identify a card you can use and then search for good deals. I have not ordered from this company, but they have shown up in many searches for phone cards over the years, so they are not a new company.
Load for Hellow can be ordered through eBay. Just do a search for Smart Buddy eLoad. The seller I am currently buying from is g3gohu.

My wife has been using our T- Mobile at $.20/minute when necessary. Otherwise, she is just using Kakao.
