Should I delete or just disable JAVA on my PC?

If you do not have any programs which require Java, disable it.

Javascript (the browser's Java like scripting language) is a separate language that also has some known problems that prompt many in IT to disable Javascript in the browser, but the problems there are not as serious.

If you use Internet Explorer, leave ActiveX disabled by default and allow ActiveX processes to run only when you see a prompt saying the website requires it AND you trust the site.  Otherwise open that page in a different browser or do without the Feature requiring ActiveX.

If for some reason you need Java, fall back to JRE 1.5.  The recent flurry of security flaws are mostly in JRE 1.6.

The adventure continues

Fritz,

Thanks for the info! I use Google Chrome as my default web browser and disabling JAVA hasn't affected anything! "Knock on wood"!
