Hello everyone, i am so glad to share that i have my little baby boy who is 30 days today. We are planning to visit Philippines sometime soon to let family meet him. I have some questions...My baby will be a US citizen, right? So we can get him a US passport? Can he be an automatic dual citizen? I am ( mother) a filipina, with 10 year permanent residence status and the father is a US citizen. Do i need to report our baby's birth to the Philippines?

Thank you so much.

You need to apply for a U.S. passport for your baby to leave the U.S.

You also need to do a "Report of Birth" to the Philippines Consulate which has jurisdiction for your state, and apply for a Philippines passport at the same time.

Philippine consulate locater (consulates in US)

The Philippine Consulates and Embassies have information for overseas Filipinos and are there to help as needed.

Passport application & Report of Birth Abroad will be found under Consular Services.
