It is simple for me.

You do not know how is having a kid until you have one.

Nephew and nieces are nice, but they are not the same as your own.

Also, that values the same for adopted children. I have a biological and an adopted. No difference whatsoever.

Actually the personality, interests, even particular skills (like sports) of my adopted daughter is a lot like mine than my bio one. I love it cause I get to experience two very distinct kids.

I know adopting is not for everyone for many reasons, but I encourage couples to look at this option.
I heard "how fortunate is the child" and I answer "wrong, I'm the fortunate one".

Cheers,

Carlos.
ps. come on go have a baby tonight. tongue.gif

I do have nephews, nieces, the players of my soccer team, friend's kids, or even the Church nursing volunteering I used to do.
I love them very much, they give me plenty in return, but it is not the same, and by a mile.
Like Ruby said, they give us so much that it is unfair to compare.
Wait until you have your little one running to you, all excited, shouting "mommy! mommy! Look what I have for you" and hug you as tight as his/her arm can and you will understand or the satisfaction of observing your kid doing something you teached him/her. Priceless!!!

His excuse is lame. tongue.gif
Yours might be OK, but for little time. wink.gif

Cheers,

Carlos.
