Globe has a somewhat new service Called "Globe Duo International" This plan allows you to call your Honey ko unlimited for 999P or $25. The way it works is they set up a U.S. phone number that connects to your loved ones Globe phone number. It must be a real Globe Sim, not a TM or like that. Here is the website

We actually just signed up for a VONAGE plan at $29.99/month, but actually figures out to close to $40.00/month once taxes are taken into account. For us, the VONAGE plan saves us about $60/month vs STARTEC monthly loads which were being used. With VONAGE, they will send you a modem that you attach to your computer and you can use either your landline or your mobile (Vonage will set this up special) to make your calls. The sound and connection are very good.

I would be interested in the quality level of this service if someone gets it. That is really the only issue I have with them is quality.

We have had Vonage as our landline for the past 8 months and have had no problem at all with the sound, connection, quality, or service. We just added a second line for the unlimited calling to PI and so far, no problems as well.

I wonder if we have something like this in Canada?

Here is the Vonage page explaining The Vonage-Globe tie in.

Unlimited calling to Philippine Globe phone numbers, $0.09 per minute to non-Globe Philippines phone numbers.

Other options are Skype, Magic Jack & OOma to name a few. These & Vonage can be used with an internet connection in Philippines to make "local" calls to US & Canada phone numbers.

For low cost calling to US I also suggest a Smart Hellow card. Difficult to find, but very low international rates :)

The adventure continues
Fritz

May you find what you want in life,
know it when you see it and
have the good luck to get it
... and keep it!!!

The advanage to the Globe Duo Intrnational plan is that you can call the U.S. number from any phone and you do not need internet. Call from your cell, your home, work, anywhere. It is $25. I have it and I could not do without it. My girlfriend just gives me a missed call if she wants me to call her, so it does not impact h load in any way.

I just thought I would share. Yes it is for Globe Sims only, that is the only downside, but Globe sims are cheap. Alos if you need to send load to t he Philippines Aryty.com is the cheapest I have found.

I agree with VONAGE.  It is the best service if you really want to save.  You can call Globe mobile and Globe landline in the Philippines.  ARYTY charges more.  I'd rather send money to my relatives to the Philippines and buy their load.

I always love ARYTY it's the cheapest way to send load through online :)

Also i tried the globe international duo plan the service was excellent !

Phone line seems to be normal like you are calling a friend from US , it won't charge you if you have unlimited call US-CANADA plan.

Unfortunately, this service is no longer available.  They offer only  3000 minutes a month for the service.
